Freedom is not the absence of boundaries.

A boat is only free to experience its full purpose in the water.

A train is only free to experience its full purpose on the tracks.

Likewise, if you give yourself free access to whatever you want, you’re not free, because your purpose is decided by your designer, not your fleeting desires.

If you’re married and feel a temptation to cheat, freedom means cutting off temptation, not acting out. Cheating wouldn’t make you free–it would blow up your life.

Freedom is embracing God’s way of living, even if it sometimes conflicts with what you want in the short term.
